Meet my queen of the week Sandra Brennan, I came across Sandra when she messaged me her story.
She really needed a day of Queenliness (you will find out why when you read her message) and was wanting to come along to my Queen-sesh of cocktails and kick arse bitches.
Sandra is hilarious, despite being thrown some of life’s greatest challenges she maintains an enviable sense of humour and to be honest I just wanted to meet her. I immediately invited her to the Queen-Sesh.
She accepted and we went on with our excitement of meeting each other.
Only for Sandra to have to pull out of our glorious day when she realised it fell on her son’s birthday.
Sandra is a true Queen.
Here is the really moving message she sent me, she is more than happy for us to all share it and I for 1 am drinking a voddy tonight for her and her family’s glory.
“To say life has been somewhat of a cunt would be an understatement. I never let myself go down the poor me road, as I know there is someone worse off than me. Our eldest, Bailey was diagnosed with Leukaemia in 2007 when he was 7. The hardest thing as a parent is watching your child so sick and being so helpless to help them. After 3 years of treatment and 6 months off treatment and when life was getting back to normal the mother fucker came back.
I had just noticed his blood count was a bit out of whack and took him back for a check up…… He had relapsed. So we packed up our house and moved 4 hours away to give this kid the best shot.
After one round of hard and heavy chemo, another blow. The Dr came to us and said “I can’t cure this kid with just chemo, he will need a bone marrow transplant”

Lucky his brother the hero was a match.
Long story short after living in hospital for 9 months and being very close to knocking on heaven’s doors my big man has been in remission for 4 yrs this year. The hardest thing I have ever had to do is hear him ask me to let him die, as he had had enough of being sick. I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy what that poor little bugger had to go through to beat this horrible disease.
Two years ago we lost my father-in-law to prostate cancer. Life just doesn’t seem fair. This man is one of the good ones. I would not have gotten through all this bullshit if it wasn’t for him. He was more like a father to me and we miss him very much. He was such a great ‘Poppy’ to my kids, such a great dad to me & my hubby. On his death bed he told me that not to worry about Bailey because he made a pact with the big man upstairs to take him and leave his precious grandson here on earth where he belongs.
So there you have it my big wanksesh. ☺️.”
Sandra, thank you. You have an incredible ability to touch people with your strength, thank you for sharing that with me and now the queens. Your words are a fucking huge reminder of what is important and real.
You and Bailey are a true inspiration. And don’t get me started on “Poppy”
We will get our day of cocktails and glory babe, as soon as your ready I’m waiting. You fucking deserve it.
P.S. I’m stealing the term “wanksesh”
